Atkinsons Mint & Tonic: History and Identity

Dive into the refreshing world of Atkinsons Mint & Tonic, a unisex fragrance released in 2018 as part of The Contemporary Collection from the legendary house Atkinsons.

This brand, founded in 1799, is renowned for its eccentric luxury and English heritage, and Mint & Tonic has become a modern embodiment of this DNA, offering a playful and fresh reinterpretation of classic themes.

The fragrance immediately captured attention due to its unconventional name and green direction, perfectly fitting into the collection that reflects current perfume trends.

How to Wear Mint & Tonic: Positioning and Wearability

This perfume is positioned as unisex and made in eau de parfum concentration, providing an ideal balance between longevity and lightness.

Its noticeable trail makes the fragrance complimentary and recognizable, suitable for an active day or evening meetings.

Experts recommend a dosage of entering the cloud on the skin to feel the full unfolding of the notes, and 1 to 2 sprays on clothing for a more lasting effect, especially in warm seasons when its green and citrus accents shine brightest.

Perfumer and Influence on the Brand

The creator of this fragrance is the talented Evelyne Boulanger, whose style is known for elegant and modern compositions.

Her work on Mint & Tonic highlights Atkinsons' ability to adapt to new trends while maintaining a commitment to quality and innovation.

The fragrance has strengthened the brand's reputation as a player in niche perfumery, attracting a young audience that values freshness and versatility.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The fragrance pyramid of Atkinsons Mint & Tonic begins with an explosive start: grapefruit and lime give a juicy citrus burst, complemented by cool mint, creating the sensation of a tonic cocktail.

In the heart of the composition, geranium unfolds with gentle floral tones, spicy ginger for warm dynamics, and juicy mandarin adding sweetness.

On the base, the fragrance gains depth thanks to cedar and vetiver, which provide woody stability, and musk finishes everything with a silky skin, making the trail long and cozy.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

My sister absolutely adores this fragrance! I like it too, but one time when I applied it, it just didn't work for me - it's always like that with citruses for me. It unfolds best on cool skin or fresh hair. A very pleasant, organic freshness, a truly beautiful scent!

The scent of mint truly brings a feeling of freshness on hot days. It's suitable for various occasions, but, in my opinion, it's best used in the office. So calm and relaxing, it creates an atmosphere of coziness and comfort 🌿

The fragrance is indeed refreshing, with notes of mint and citrus. The bottle looks great, it really suits it. I agree, it sounds more for men. Grapefruit adds a slightly soapy nuance and bitterness. Cedar and vetiver give it a strictness. It's perfectly fine to wear it to work, it's neutral. I liked the brand, the assortment is not bad, and the design is simple and stylish 🌟

This composition is simply awful. It evokes no emotions and seems completely unnoticeable. The mint here is so faint it's barely perceptible. Instead of enhancing, it just overwhelms with its presence. No freshness, just an oppressive heaviness. I don't recommend it)))

Atkinsons fragrances, like Mint & Tonic, really stand out from the rest. They create an atmosphere of sophistication and style, as if balancing on the edge between practicality and elegance. This perfume combines the freshness of mint with a light citrusy tang of lemon, giving it a special playfulness.

Geranium and grapefruit add interesting notes, while cedar provides depth and structure. In the base, vetiver is perceptible, not imposing, but creating a sense of confidence. Mint & Tonic is not just a fragrance; it's a kind of style manifesto that suits any occasion, whether it's the office or an evening meeting.

Atkinsons does what it does best - creates perfumes that are easy to wear and leave a pleasant impression. It's a classic with a modern approach, and I'm sure such fragrances will find their admirers. Overall, Mint & Tonic is an excellent choice for those who appreciate quality and style)))

This fragrance is mind-blowing! It's so bright and fresh, it just takes your breath away. There are tons of citruses here: lime, bergamot, and grapefruit - all in one bottle. Ginger and mint add a kick, and a touch of vanilla makes it slightly sweet. But, honestly, it reminds me more of something masculine

This scent is refreshing, of course, but damn, there's too much mint here. It makes it somewhat masculine, which isn't pleasing at all. For the first half hour, the mint just screams, and then, finally, mandarin appears, which seems to have warmed in the sun, and ginger, which adds a bit of tartness. In this version, I like it more, but the feeling of sharpness and heaviness still lingers

The mint in this fragrance is really appropriate, it gives a refreshing effect. In the summer heat, it's just a godsend! The fragrance is framed by a beautiful bouquet that makes it unique and memorable )

How delighted I am with this fragrance! It's simply gorgeous. But here's the problem - it ran out, and now I can't find it anywhere. If anyone knows where to buy this perfume in Europe, I would be very grateful for a hint!

A scent that promises refreshment and invigoration turns out to be quite ordinary in reality. Mint is indeed felt, but it doesn't leave a vivid impression. Citrus notes are also present, but their freshness quickly fades. Longevity leaves much to be desired, and the sillage is practically imperceptible. It's as if something important slips away, leaving only the bitterness of disappointment. )))

Mint, in my opinion, is clearly associated with masculine fragrances. I was looking for something in perfumery where it would unfold in a feminine way, but, alas, I didn't find it. This scent is undoubtedly appealing, but, in my feeling, it's still more suitable for men

Citrus notes with coolness and mint create an interesting backdrop, supported by an aquatic accord reminiscent of soap, and spicy nuances. Overall, the fragrance smells fresh and youthful, but, in my opinion, it's more suitable for men )

This fragrance is really on the edge! First you feel freshness, citrus, something like Green Tea, but then this masculine base emerges and lingers too long. Interesting, but I'm not thrilled. The base, by the way, isn't that intrusive, ladies can wear it, but longevity isn't its strong suit, there's no sillage at all. For the office - yes, but nothing more 😒
