Code Deco launched Damasc in 2013 — and it was a brilliant move. A feminine fragrance belonging to the east and floral families. Perfumer Gauri Garodia left a distinct mark on this composition. Damasc is part of the Detour collection.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Damasc evolves as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The style of Code Deco comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musc without random overlap. Additional accords such as Wood add depth to the backdrop. The stylistic positioning is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

From the first breath you detect crisp leafy first notes: Black currant leaf, Blackcurrant and Citrus accord.

In the heart you notice Geranium, Rose and Tobacco carrying a velvety rose-iris direction. In the final layer the composition is fixed through Patchouli, Sandalwood and musk, reinforcing a warm vetiver trail.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Green, Fruit, Citrus and Floral. The palette also extends to Wood, Musk, Gourmet and Whiteflower. Within olfactory families the composition sits in East and Floral.

In summary Damasc reads as a cohesive composition — the opening sets direction, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best experienced on skin.
