Summer puts perfume to the test. In the heat, even your favorite fragrance can sound different: some...
Ursula Wandel is a respected senior perfumer at the legendary fragrance house Givaudan, whose path to the top began with a fundamental study of chemistry. This scientific background became her secret weapon, allowing her to deeply understand the structure and behavior of components. After graduating from the prestigious Givaudan perfumery school, she officially joined the team in Geneva in 1971, beginning a career that would span decades and leave a significant mark on both the mass market and the world of luxury fragrances.
Although the perfumer's early work remained in the shadows, her talent came to the fore in the mid-1990s. It was then that her first signature compositions appeared for such respected houses as Cerruti and Hugo Boss. However, her real breakthrough came when she began collaborating with celebrities: in 1999, she created the debut fragrance for top model Naomi Campbell, and in 2002, she created the eponymous perfume for Cindy Crawford. These works opened the doors to the world of celebrities for her and cemented her reputation as a master capable of capturing and embodying the essence of a vibrant personality.
In the 2000s, Ursula Wandel's portfolio rapidly expanded with hits for a wide variety of brands. She worked masterfully with luxury names, creating the exquisite Chopard - Wish Turquoise Diamond and the elegant Boucheron - B Boucheron. At the same time, her talent shone in the mass market: the passionate Hugo Boss - Boss Intense, the fresh Adidas - Adidas 3 Women, and the romantic Laura Biagiotti - Tempore Donna won over millions.
Her work for Yves Rocher earned her special recognition in the perfume community. Released in 2011, Comme Une Evidence L'Eau and its men's version, Comme Une Evidence Green for Men, became absolute bestsellers, loved for their purity, naturalness, and incredible lightness.
Ursula Wandel's style is a harmonious synthesis of scientific approach and creative intuition. Her chemical education allows her to flawlessly construct compositions, making them durable and clear. At the same time, her perfumes are always distinguished by their emotional depth and excellent readability of the image, whether it is the bold sensuality of Naomi Campbell - Exult or the rebellious freshness of Lady Gaga - Eau De Gaga 001, created for the pop icon in 2014.
Ursula Wandel's career is a shining example of versatility. From Avon and Pull & Bear to Chopard and Azzaro, she has demonstrated that true talent can create sought-after fragrances for any audience. Her many years at Givaudan and her extensive portfolio, including hits for Mexx and s.Oliver, inspire a new generation of perfumers. Today, her fragrances continue to receive high praise from users, remaining coveted discoveries for anyone who appreciates quality and emotion in every bottle.
