Clean perfumery: what is a 'green' fragrance?

Axe launched Black in 2015 — and it was a brilliant move. By character, a masculine fragrance drawing from the east and fruit families. Perfumer Ann Gottlieb left a distinct mark on this composition. Offered in fragrant mist concentration.
It has a delicate sillage, staying close and personal. A subtle fragrance: the longevity is low, which suits its gentle character. Made in Denmark, backed by a long and proud tradition. Black Axe unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.
The fragrance has low persistence and lasts on the skin for about 2–3 hours, gradually fading and smoothly revealing its main notes
A subtle trail—just a hint of fragrance
The perfume has a fresh scent that is not too intense, so it does not overwhelm those around you with strong essences
A weightless, fragrant veil with a light concentration delicately refreshes the skin and gives a feeling of cleanliness and comfort
Fragrances for spring and summer unfold with light citrus notes, floral and fruity accords, filling the composition with freshness, airiness, and a feeling of carefree lightness on warm days
The olfactory structure of Black unfolds as an expressive line of development, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The signature of Axe comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Fragrant mist supports the depth and body this composition needs.
The accord architecture is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musc forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Wood and Spicy enrich the profile without taking over. The stylistic positioning is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read. In longevity terms Low indicates a stable lasting impression.
As soon as the fragrance opens you catch sparkling citrus first notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Pear and Watermelon.
In the middle phase you notice Cardamom and Freesia keeping a warm-spicy direction.
At the note-group layer the composition is built around Citrus, Fruit, Spicy and Floral. The palette also extends to Wood, Musk and Gourmet.
Taken together Black sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory.
