Fragrance information:

Black Caviar Axis, that first saw the light of day in 2007, sits firmly in the category of a masculine fragrance, belonging to the spicy and wood families. An eau de toilette — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

Expect a extremely noticeable sillage: present enough to be remembered. Produced in France, where perfumery has long been elevated to an art form. Black Caviar Axis unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Black Caviar unfolds as an expressive line of development, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Axis is recognizable in the way notes appear and fade. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette keeps the right density and pace of development.

At the opening of the pyramid you catch radiant lemon-bergamot first notes: Bergamot, Lavender, Mandarin and Rosemary.

In the heart you sense Black Pepper, Cardamom, Juniper berries, Marine accord and Nutmeg keeping a cinnamon-nutmeg direction.

The olfactory framework is shaped by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Musc and Wood without random overlap. Additional accords such as Leather, Spicy and Marine add depth to the backdrop. The profile is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Citrus, Green, Aromatic and Spicy. It also reaches into Fruit, Aquatic, Wood and Leather.

Taken together Black Caviar sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. This is the type of composition best judged in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance turned out better than its "sibling" from the same series. I can't figure out what exactly they changed, but it smells more refined. It has aquatic notes with citrus and nutmeg, a bit rough, but still pleasant 🌊

This fruity fragrance, although it looks appealing, actually leaves a feeling of incompleteness. Cold, slightly sour notes of herbs and spices create the impression that something is missing. It's clear that this is a budget option, but even in this case, expectations aren't met. The longevity is simply disappointing, as if it disappears into thin air, leaving no trace 😔
