Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Dark Velvet is shaped as a layered story, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Beate Johnen comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum sets the depth and body this composition needs.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Musc, Wood, Powdery and Amber with each one in a clear role. Secondary accord layers such as Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background. The stylistic positioning is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

As soon as the fragrance opens you meet piquant warm first notes: Black Pepper and Cardamom.

In the central layer you notice Iris and Saffron keeping a velvety rose-iris direction.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Spicy, Floral, Ambery and Wood. It also reaches into Musk. At family level the fragrance belongs to Spicy.
