Perfume information

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Barbados is built as a cohesive olfactory arc, where notes flow without rush and without gaps. The signature of D.S. & Durga comes through in the way notes appear and fade. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de Cologne emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

When the structure is mixed the opening appears as one connected movement with a warm spicy mood: Laurel, Lime, Nutmeg and Rum. In this format 4 notes act as one coherent layer, forming piquant dynamism that keeps the opening compact and balanced.

The deeper layers are felt as a gradual shift without abrupt breaks, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Citrus, Spicy and Alcoholic with each one in a clear role. The profile is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Spicy, Citrus, Drinks and Wood. Within olfactory families the composition sits in Spicy and Wood.

Overall Barbados holds a coherent structure — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the fragrances best experienced in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance, in my opinion, is quite suitable for both women and men. It's not too harsh or vulgar, which is nice. The scent from the bottle is just amazing, I couldn't resist and applied it to my wrist. For the first 30-40 minutes it was quite rough and sharp, but then, apparently, it couldn't resist my charm and became softer and more feminine. At home, I decided to experiment and added a drop of licorice and lavender to a blotter - it turned out very pleasant. Overall, the fragrance is worth trying, even if it might seem strange at first
