Fragrance information:

The house of D.S. & Durga gifted the world with Vetyver in 2010. By character, a masculine fragrance drawing from the fern and wood families. Perfumers Kavi Ahuja Moltz and David Seth Moltz joined forces to create something truly special. An eau de cologne — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

Produced in the United States, and you can feel it in every note. Vetyver D.S. & Durga unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.

Description of the composition

The scent of Vetyver is shaped as a living composition, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The creative approach of D.S. & Durga is recognizable in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de Cologne supports the right density and pace of development.

From the first breath you detect juicy fruity top notes: Banana, Bergamot, Peach and Pineapple. These 4 notes form thrilling fruity juiciness that anchors the first impression immediately.

When the opening settles you meet Clove, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Rose and Tuberose carrying a sensual jasmine direction.

The internal accord map is shaped by these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musc with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Wood, Amber and Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Fruit, Citrus, Spicy and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Floral, Ambery, Gourmet and Musk.

In summary Vetyver holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the scent structures best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.
Sillage
Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

How frustrating that this vetiver is no longer produced! It would be interesting to try it alongside other perfumes where it plays a leading role, like Lalique Encre Noir 😮

The scent, in my opinion, is quite suitable for both women and men. It's not too harsh or vulgar. The smell from the bottle is simply captivating, and I couldn't resist trying it on my wrist. For the first 30-40 minutes, it was quite rough and sharp, but then, under the influence of my charm, it became softer and more feminine. At home, I decided to experiment and added a drop of licorice and lavender to a blotter. It turned out very cute and interesting! ))
