The composition was created by perfumer Dawn Spencer Hurwitz. This is a women's fragrance in eau de parfum concentration, belonging to the floral and oriental fragrance families.

Inspired by the geometry and opulence of the 1920s and 1930s, Parfum de Luxe promises to be rich and elegant.

Description of the composition

The Parfum de Luxe composition opens with the sparkling freshness of bergamot, paired with spicy clary sage and powdery violet.

At its heart blooms a luxurious floral bouquet of geranium, iris, rose, tuberose, and ylang-ylang.

The base is warm and deep: resinous benzoin, earthy patchouli, creamy sandalwood, and smoky tobacco create a refined trail with an oriental character.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Unfortunately, there are no clear standards or norms. Everyone, of course, says "don't apply too much" and "the scent shouldn't be intrusive," but in practice, that's not always the case. For example, I sometimes smell laundry detergent from people who walk by. Or, conversely, if someone is wearing a dirty shirt. Everyone has their own level of sensitivity. I've developed a few rules for myself:

- don't use scented products (deodorants, perfumes) before a workout. It's simply impossible to exercise next to someone who smells strongly;
- don't apply more than 1-2 "sprays";
- have several fragrances and change them regularly. If you use the same one every day, your nose quickly gets used to it, and it seems like we don't smell, so we start dousing ourselves with eau de toilette. If you change fragrances, there won't be habituation
- if it seems like the scent quickly disappears, apply it not behind the ears, but in the hollow of your neck.

And here's another thought for which I might be judged: don't buy popular fragrances. They all smell pretty much the same - like laundry detergent or as if someone decided to save money and diluted perfume with alcohol. It's better to choose something less known, maybe a little more expensive and complex. Fortunately, there's a lot of good perfumery on the market now
