Fragrance information:

Imagine a spring morning in Provence—this is precisely the mood captured by the legendary British perfume house Girard in its fragrance Provence Spring.

Launched in 2008, this eau de toilette instantly won over lovers of classics while remaining true to the traditions of the house founded back in 1898.

This women's fragrance belongs to the floral and woody fragrance families.

It was created by the talented perfumer Beverley Bayne, who masterfully combined citrus freshness with the warmth of spicy and woody notes.

Character and scent profile

Provence Spring unfolds gradually, like the bud of a spring flower. Its moderate sillage makes it appropriate both for the office and for a romantic stroll.

Its compliment-worthy character and softness will appeal to admirers of understated elegance. It is the perfect choice for those seeking time-tested classics with a contemporary feel.

How to wear it and who will love it

If you enjoy sophisticated fragrances with a story, consider Tom Ford Black Orchid, Carven Ma Griffe, or Tommy Hilfiger Hilfiger Woman Cheerfully Pink.

Provence Spring itself will become a faithful companion for those who value depth and passion in perfumery, much like an aged French wine. You can learn more about the brand on its official website.

Description of the composition

The composition opens with a vibrant duet of lemon and ylang-ylang, evoking the feeling of a sunny morning. At the heart of the fragrance unfolds a lush bouquet of clove, jasmine, and delicate rose.

The base is warm and sensual: sandalwood, vanilla, vetiver, and musk create a long-lasting, velvety trail. Each note plays its part, transforming the fragrance into a refined symphony.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The bottle totally doesn't match the scent, it gives off this vibe like it should be bright and fresh, but actually it's kinda depressing. The smell reminds me more of wilting flowers, sweetish and tart, but without any life. There's this sadness to it, like it's missing all the lightness and freshness
