Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Donna Istinto unfolds as a layered story, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The style of Krizia is recognizable in the way notes appear and fade. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

The profile is feminine, which clarifies the composition character.

Right at the start you detect fresh floral top notes: Lily of the Valley, Magnolia and Sunflower. These 3 notes set an elegant floral wave that is impossible to miss.

When the opening settles you meet Lily, Rose and honeysuckle holding a velvety rose-iris direction. At drydown level the line is anchored through Ambergris, Cedar, Patchouli and musk, reinforcing a earthy woody-resinous trail.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Whiteflower, Floral, Ambery and Wood. The palette also extends to Musk. From a family perspective the composition sits in Chypre and Floral.

Overall Donna Istinto reads as a cohesive composition — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best judged in wear.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Although the bottle looks quite rough and the name "Instinct" suggests something powerful, the scent is actually very light and floral. It's true spring in a bottle, a fresh breeze and greenery all around 🌸 I think this perfume would be perfect for a young, slender and graceful girl, not some femme fatale, but simply someone who radiates natural beauty. Honestly, I'm still shocked by how the bottle doesn't match the contents. I expected something richer and heavier, but I got lightness and freshness 🌼
