Description of the composition

The composition of Believe unfolds as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The signature of Laurence Dumont is clear in the way notes appear and fade. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum supports the depth and body this composition needs.

In the top tier you detect candy-delicate opening note: Candied Fruits. This single 1 note shapes a delicious gourmand trail that is impossible to miss.

When the opening settles you sense Coffee and Vanilla carrying a creamy gourmand direction. At drydown level the structure settles through Ambergris, extending a viscous resinous trail.

The olfactory framework is built around these accords: Gourmet, Fruit, Amber and Spicy without random overlap. The profile is feminine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Sweet, Gourmet and Ambery. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to East.

Taken together Believe holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best understood on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The candied fruits in this scent were so obvious that my mouth started watering. But, after reflecting on it, and returning to it, I experienced complete disappointment with the cloying synthetic scent that greeted me. Why did my opinion change so drastically? Probably because the first time I didn't examine it too carefully 😒

The sweetness of this fragrance evokes nostalgia, but it seems too simple, as if made for teenagers. I remember everyone wearing something similar at school discos. There's a chemical undertone, but overall it's quite pleasant. Vanilla and sweet coffee clearly dominate, but I would have liked to smell fruits, but alas, they never appeared 😔
