Fragrance information:

LuluCastagnette Lulu Castagnette, brought to life in 2002, is classified as a feminine fragrance, belonging to the fruit and floral families. By character, it falls into the sweet, wood, and fruit groups. The palette of this fragrance is exceptionally rich: traces of floral and whiteflower can also be found — a rare combination that makes this perfume truly one of a kind. Available as eau de toilette.

Expect a noticeable sillage — enough to be remembered, not enough to overwhelm. For skin application, 1-2 sprays is the sweet spot. It doesn't linger long, but it always leaves a mark — longevity is very low. The birthplace of this fragrance — France, a place with a refined nose. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The composition of LuluCastagnette unfolds as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The signature of Lulu Castagnette is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette keeps the depth and body this composition needs.

From the first breath you sense radiant lemon-bergamot top notes: Bergamot and Fig.

When the opening settles you notice Cotton Candy, Jasmine, Magnolia and Rose carrying a harmonious floral direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Citrus, Gourmet, Floral and Fruit forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Musc, Wood and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The gender direction is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. In wear duration Very low points to a sustained drydown presence.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Floral, Fruit, Sweet and Whiteflower. The framework further includes Wood, Citrus, Gourmet and Musk.

Overall LuluCastagnette sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.
Persistence
Low (1 to 2 hours)
2
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. At first glance, the fragrance might seem banal, but it's not. I received it as a gift and was pleasantly surprised. You can smell coconut, fig, and sweetness in it, but there's also a slight aquatic quality. No cloying sweetness, everything feels refreshed and balanced 🌊

This fragrance is just disgusting! Sweet, but with some nasty sourness that makes you nauseous. You can feel it's all artificial, like someone sprayed something chemical up your nose. Not recommended!

In my opinion, the fragrance is quite banal, it doesn't evoke any special emotions. Citrus notes give it freshness, bergamot is immediately noticeable after application, so it can safely be considered a summer option. But, honestly, it quickly starts to get boring!!!

In November 2014, my then-boyfriend gave me a bottle of Lulu Castagnette perfume that he brought from duty-free. It was a huge ball with bright blue liquid inside. The scent turned out to be quite strange. I wouldn't have chosen it myself, as I usually avoid perfumes in blue shades, knowing that fresh notes I don't like often hide there (though there are exceptions, like Mugler's Angels)

The fragrance pyramid lists cotton candy and fig. At first, you really smell sweetness, and then cold herbal notes appear, which are apparently created by the fig on my skin. Later, musk and sweetish sandalwood emerge. Some noted coconut, although it's not in the description. My mother didn't appreciate the scent, calling it too cloying. It's definitely not my type - it feels somewhat alien. But I couldn't just get rid of it, sell it, or use it as an air freshener.

The fragrance became associated with pleasant memories for me. I got used to it - it was perfect for the dampness of November and December, as well as for February and March weather under the leaden St. Petersburg sky. This humidity in the scent reminded me of Ingrian dampness. It's not for romance or dates; rather, it creates an image of cold detachment. It's something like perfumery surrealism. It has cosmic coldness and indifference. A friend even called it the Snow Queen's scent. I wore it to work, to creative meetings, and on walks, both alone and with friends.

Today the bottle is empty - for the last couple of months, I've just been "squeezing" it to get rid of it. I certainly won't repeat it. But as a perfumery experience - it was interesting and unusual. I recommend it to those who are ready for surrealism in perfumery and love aquatic fragrances ))
