Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Ancient unfolds as an expressive line of development, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Mahdi Alajmi is evident from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction.

Without strict stage separation the opening appears as one connected movement with a voluminous floral mood: Rose and musk. In this case 2 notes act as one integrated frame, building romantic softness that reads as cohesive from the start.

The heart and base are read as a gradual shift without abrupt breaks, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Floral and Musc without random overlap. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which clarifies the composition character.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Floral and Musk.

Overall Ancient holds a coherent structure — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. These are the scent structures best judged in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.
Sillage
Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The scent is clearly at the forefront here - rose simply dominates. This perfume shouldn't be divided into masculine or feminine, it's as if it's created for everyone. The oriental notes present in it can appeal to both men and women. The musk, of course, is quite rich and animalistic, you need to be careful with it. I didn't quite understand when it starts to show its brightness, but that adds interest 🌹
