Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Oud Malay unfolds as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Malay Perfumery is recognizable in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through.

From the group perspective the profile is anchored in Balsamic, Animals, Whiteflower and Leather. The palette also extends to Wood and Spicy.

Without strict stage separation the notes arrive together with a deep balsamic mood: Benzoin, Grey Ambergris, Jasmine, Leather accord, Oud and Star anise.

The heart and base are felt as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The internal accord map rests on these accords: Gourmet, Floral, Wood and Amber with each one in a clear role. Secondary accord layers such as Leather and Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background. The gender direction is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

Overall Oud Malay sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best experienced through real development.
