The Charm of Marks and Spencer Butterfly

Have you ever caught yourself wishing to look and smell like the embodiment of a spring morning? Marks and Spencer Butterfly is exactly that kind of fragrance.

Imagine yourself in a light dress, surrounded by blooming gardens, with a glass of freshly squeezed juice in your hand.

This eau de toilette, launched in 2010, was created for women who appreciate lightness and femininity.

Its sillage is barely noticeable, but that is not a drawback: the fragrance seems to whisper rather than shout, leaving an air of mystery.

It is the perfect choice for those who prefer intimate compliments to bold statements.

But how can you make the fragrance last exactly as long as you need? The secret lies in the dosage.

For delicate skin, 2 to 3 sprays are enough; if you want to leave a light trace on your clothes, feel free to use 3 to 4 sprays.

Natural fabrics such as cotton or silk will reveal the fragrance especially softly, while synthetics should be treated with more caution—you may end up with an unexpected accord.

By the way, Butterfly is perfect for daytime walks, get-togethers with friends, or even a romantic date—the main thing is not to overdo it.

If you enjoy this style, be sure to explore related fragrances: Donna Karan DKNY Be Delicious, Salvador Dali Itisdream, and Monotheme Fine Fragrances Venezia Narciso Bianco.

Each one echoes Butterfly’s fruity-floral mood in its own way while adding distinctive nuances.

Description of the composition

The composition of Butterfly is built on the contrast between freshness and warmth. The top notes—juicy Apple, crisp Cucumber, and sparkling Grapefruit—create a feeling of morning coolness.

This is followed by a floral heart of delicate Magnolia, sensual Rose, and powdery Violet. In the base, the fragrance is warmed by soft Musk and velvety Amber, leaving a light, comforting trail.

It is the perfect balance of playfulness and elegance.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Extremely low (up to 1 hour)
1
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.
Sillage
Extremely inconspicuous
1
Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Daisy by MJ looks decent, but the scent is just awful, reminds me of DKNY's green apple. Nothing special, just for girls who are just starting to get into perfumes

What a delight! This fragrance is simply wonderful. It reminds me of a refreshing mix of cucumber and apple, but with a sweeter, candy-like nuance. If I compare it to Donna Karan's green apple perfume, this option seems even more appealing to me. A true feast for the senses! 🍏
