Fragrance information:

Cologne Cardamom Richard James, brought to life in 2007, sits firmly in the category of a unisex fragrance, falling within the floral family. By character, it falls into the spicy, floral, and citrus groups. An eau de cologne — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

Expect a moderate sillage — enough to be remembered, not enough to overwhelm. In terms of longevity, it sits at moderate — long enough to make a real impression. Country of origin — the United Kingdom: no wonder the fragrance turned out this refined. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The composition of Cologne Cardamom evolves as a living composition, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The signature of Richard James is clear in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de Cologne emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

In the top tier you meet piquant warm top notes: Black Pepper, Cardamom, Lemon and Lime. Exactly these 4 notes shape piquant dynamism that is impossible to miss.

In the central layer you meet Geranium and Star anise carrying a opulent floral direction.

The internal accord map is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Wood and Spicy without random overlap. The gender direction is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read. In wear duration Middle indicates a stable lasting impression.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Citrus, Floral, Spicy and Wood. It also reaches into Green and Whiteflower. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to Floral.

Overall Cologne Cardamom reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best experienced on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The green cardamom here is truly bright and rich, with a slight hint of fresh ginger. In the heart of the fragrance, you can feel tart lime and sweet candied citrus peels. Sometimes pink pepper appears, adding a bit of sharpness and spice. For a cologne, the longevity is simply excellent 🌿
