Perfume information

Description of the composition

The scent of Swing is shaped as a living composition, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Shirley May is clear from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de toilette sets a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Citrus, Whiteflower, Green and Sweet. The palette also extends to Floral, Wood, Musk and Fruit. At family level the scent maps to Floral and Fruit.

Right at the start you sense sparkling citrus opening notes: Green Mandarin, Jasmine and Strawberry leaf.

In the middle phase you sense Caramel and Violet carrying a velvety-sweet direction. At the foundation the line is anchored through Patchouli and musk, extending a earthy woody-resinous trail.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Citrus, Gourmet, Floral and Musc without random overlap. Background accords such as Wood expand the olfactory volume in the background. The gender direction is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

Taken together Swing holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The sweet berries here just reek of synthetics, and the greenery with white flowers only adds to this tastelessness. It all reminds me of some cheap compote for teenagers. It smells, of course, terribly flat and uninteresting 😒
