Fragrance information:

Shu Uemura Fleur de Source, released in 2008, is a women’s eau de toilette belonging to the citrus and fougère fragrance families.

History and Concept

Shu Uemura is a brand renowned for its artistic approach to beauty. Fleur de Source is no exception: it embodies the idea of purity and natural elegance.

Released in 2008, the fragrance quickly won the hearts of admirers with its lightness and distinctive character.

Character and Scent Profile

This perfume is ideal for daytime wear in spring and autumn. Its very strong sillage makes it noticeable without being overpowering.

The composition is perfect for young, calm, and composed women who appreciate freshness and sophistication.

Fleur de Source pairs beautifully with business attire, yet it is equally appropriate in a casual setting.

The opening is bright and spicy, thanks to anise, lavender, and lemon, while papyrus adds a herbaceous nuance. At the heart, jasmine and orange blossom unfold, creating a delicate floral accord.

A base of basil and coriander lends spice and depth. The fragrance’s longevity is pleasing: it stays with you throughout the day.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Here I caught jasmine and spicy anise notes. Seems like there's too much greenness, and dill is definitely noticeable. Dried, like it was left in the sun. The scent feels natural, herbal, but there's something oppressive and sad about it 🌿

The scent turned out quite dry and herbaceous, with cooling notes. Overall, it's pleasant, though not entirely unisex. There's a slight hint of masculine freshness, which is a bit confusing. Reminds me of something from the Gardens of the Nile, but with a more pronounced green component. All in all, not the most successful option, but not a complete failure either
