Fragrance information:

2021: the world took its first breath of Open Mind State of Mind. A unisex fragrance from the green, wood, and fruit families. Perfumer Karine Dubreuil is the author behind this composition. By character, it falls into the drinks, wood, and fruit groups. Available as eau de parfum.

Expect a moderate sillage — enough to be remembered, not enough to overwhelm. Apply 2-3 sprays whether on skin or fabric — it works equally well either way. The longevity is high — this one will stay with you for the long haul. Made in France. Open Mind State of Mind unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.

Description of the composition

The scent of Open Mind unfolds as an expressive line of development, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The signature of State of Mind is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

In the first seconds you meet sparkling citrus top notes: Lime and Melon. Exactly these 2 notes build sunny vitality that gives the fragrance a clear opening statement.

When the opening settles you meet Crithmum, Green Tea and Hinoki holding a velvety sandalwood direction.

The olfactory framework is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Wood with each one in a clear role. The profile is unisex, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. In wear duration High indicates a stable lasting impression.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Drinks, Fruit, Wood and Citrus. It also reaches into Floral, Earthy / Mossy and Green.

Taken together Open Mind reads as a cohesive composition — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best judged through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth

What an interesting fragrance! This isn't just an aquatic composition, but something completely unique. There are no usual marine notes or watery freshness here. Rather, it's a mood when you relax and recharge. Tea and slightly rough accents, as well as woody notes with fruits that don't remind you of the tropics, create an amazing feeling. We wanted to get something about tea, and in the end, we got a sea of emotions. Simply magnificent and unusual! 🌊

The smell of wood feels too artificial, with a slight ozone tint. Upon reapplication, I got a feeling of burnt rubber, or maybe even gasoline. In the end, there was bitterness and a chemical aftertaste. After such an experience, the desire to try something new completely disappeared )
