Description of the composition

The scent of Silphium is shaped as a living composition, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Stora Skuggan is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum keeps the depth and body this composition needs.

From the first breath you detect incense warm top note: Labdanum. This 1 note builds noble smoky warmth that gives the fragrance a clear opening statement.

When the opening settles you meet Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, Geranium, Ginger and Tobacco carrying a spicy-aromatic direction. In what remains on skin the line is anchored through Frankincense, Leather accord, Myrrh and White Cedar, reinforcing a velvety incense trail.

The gender direction is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Balsamic, Spicy, Floral and Wood. The palette also extends to Leather and Gourmet. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to East and Spicy.

Taken together Silphium sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best judged in wear.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. This fragrance definitely surprised me! It's so spicy and a little dusty, with notes of fresh herbs. I immediately got the feeling of an autumn field, where carnations grow and the grasses have already bloomed. A true masculine perfume that certainly won't leave anyone indifferent! 🌾
