Baglietto is an Italian manufacturer of motor and sailing yachts. Founded in 1854 by shipbuilder Pietro Baglietto, who started by opening a small boat workshop that soon grew into a large shipyard. In 1888, the factory received an order to build a yacht for Pope Leo XIII, followed by years of rapid development. In 1906, the company began developing the world's first hydrofoil vessel, and during World War I, in cooperation with the government, it produced motorboats used for tracking submarines.
In 1911, management of the company passed to Bernardo Baglietto, Pietro's son. Under his leadership, the company became a world leader in the production of high-speed yachts and fulfilled orders for King Alfonso XIII of Spain, Giacomo Puccini, Guglielmo Marconi, and several other famous personalities.
In the following decades, the shipyard grew, improving the design of vessels along with their technical characteristics. In the 1960s, a collection of yachts with wooden hulls was released, named after Mediterranean islands. In the 1970s, the "aluminum era" began, and the company started building large-scale models. Today, Baglietto vessels are among the fastest in the world. Since 2012, the company has been under the management of the Italian industrial holding Gavio Group.
The brand's only perfume launch is the men's oriental fragrance Baglietto, created for the yacht brand by the Schiaparelli house. The composition was released in 1987 in eau de toilette concentration. Currently, the product has been discontinued.
