Catherine Deneuve was born on October 22, 1943. At the age of 15, she made her film debut completely by chance. Then, as often happens, she was noticed and offered roles. It would be strange if Catherine Deneuve had chosen a different profession. Her entire family was rooted in acting. Catherine's grandmother dubbed films, and her parents successfully performed in the theater. Three of the four girls had creative talents, but only one became famous.
After the triumphant "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg," Catherine Deneuve achieved true fame. The director of that film, Jacques Demy, later became a close friend. With each film, the actress's success grew. She worked in Hollywood and also filmed in Bulgaria, Italy, and other countries. For her role in Régis Wargnier's film "Indochine," Catherine Deneuve was nominated for an Oscar.
Catherine was fortunate to meet and work with Luis Buñuel and Jean-Paul Rappeneau, and she continues to act for some directors to this day. Catherine Deneuve is the screen embodiment of femininity, and like the Eiffel Tower and Chanel No. 5 perfume, she is a symbol of France.
Catherine Deneuve created the fragrance and also the shape of the bottle, which bears her name – "Deneuve."
