Florina (Florina) — a Polish company founded in 1945 in Krakow. It specialized in the production of decorative and skincare cosmetics exported to Eastern European countries.
The brand gained its greatest fame from the men's cologne Prastara, which was produced in a recognizable bottle with a woven packaging. Its prototype was a perfume created in 1682 by perfumer Jean Paul Féminis for King Louis XIV — its formula, according to the brand, was found after the war at a Polish factory Pixin. Florina gave its composition a similar scent, built around ylang-ylang and basil, and gave the fragrance a symbolic name (prastara — Polish for "ancient").
The cologne was a huge success in the Eastern European market and was produced until the end of the 1980s. In 2002, the brand introduced its updated version Nowa Prastara, supplemented with notes of cardamom, neroli, sandalwood, and amber.
Little is known about the company's current activities; today the brand produces cosmetic collections.
