Pistachio: what it smells like and what to wear with the main note of summer 2026
A year ago, pistachio lived in ice cream and baklava. Now it has settled on wrists, and the perfume ...
Mémory Fragrances is a bold and very young niche perfume house from the United Kingdom, officially starting its journey in 2025. The brand name itself is not just a play on words (Memory + Mémory), but a conscious concept: each fragrance is designed to capture a moment, emotion, or image, turning them into an olfactory imprint. The main source of inspiration for the founders was the wild nature of Africa — its grandeur, power, and vulnerability. Mémory Fragrances does not just create perfumes, but tells stories, where the bottle becomes a portal to the savanna, and each note is the voice of the animal to which the composition is dedicated.
Despite its recent appearance on the market, the brand has already made a name for itself with its bold choice of perfumers and a concise but recognizable visual style. Mémory Fragrances targets a sophisticated audience looking not just for a scent, but an emotional experience. At the core of the brand's DNA are contrasts: fragility and power, civilization and pristine nature, synthetics and natural extracts.
Two talented perfumers worked on the creation of the first line of fragrances: Julien Rasquinet and Kevin Methys. Both masters are known for their ability to combine unexpected chords and create voluminous, almost cinematic compositions. For Mémory Fragrances, they reinterpreted the classic animal theme in perfumery, moving away from straightforward animalic notes in favor of abstract, impressionistic portraits.
Julien Rasquinet, whose style is characterized by elegant conciseness and transparency, brought airiness and light to the line. Kevin Methys, on the contrary, added depth and sensual richness. Together they created a collection built around five key 'totems' — animals that have become symbols of the brand. Each fragrance is an independent work, but all are united by the common idea of memory of the wild nature.
The brand's flagship compositions are Mémory Fragrances - Elephant, Mémory Fragrances - Cheetah, Mémory Fragrances - Lion and Mémory Fragrances - Giraffe. As the names suggest, each fragrance is dedicated to a specific member of the fauna. 'Elephant', according to the perfumers' idea, conveys wise power and grace: it is dominated by woody and earthy chords with a hint of dry grass. 'Cheetah' is a swift, spicy, and slightly predatory unisex with an emphasis on pepper and leather. 'Lion' is the most regal and ambery of the four, with sensual notes of frankincense and leather. 'Giraffe' is the most unexpected: light, green, with watercolor edges of herbaceous chords and white flowers, reminiscent of the savanna at dawn.
Despite the brand just starting its journey, its fragrances have already received critical attention for their bold reading of the 'animal' theme without using real animalic notes. Mémory Fragrances is an ode to nature contained in glass, and an invitation to relearn how to smell the wild world. The perfume house promises to regularly expand its collection, continuing to explore new facets of memory and sensations.
