Brand «Speidel»

Speidel (рус. Speidel) is an American company that produces watches and jewelry under its own brand, as well as watch straps for third-party brands. Founded in 1867 by German entrepreneur Friedrich Speidel, it initially specialized in jewelry production. In 1911, Speidel's sons Albert, Edwin, and Eugene immigrated to the United States; the brothers registered the trademark Speidel Chain Company, which over the following decades became a major manufacturer of men's precious metal chain bracelets. After the war, the company focused on creating straps and accessories for wristwatches, the brand's main focus to this day.

In the 1960s, the company released a collection of perfumery works. The most successful in the brand's history was the men's fragrance British Sterling, introduced in 1966 in cologne and aftershave lotion variations. Later, a line of flankers was released: British Sterling Bitter Lemon, British Sterling Imperial Musk, and Silver by British Sterling. In the 1980s, the rights to market the bestseller passed to Mem, then to Dana, which currently produce the fragrance. The new formula of the composition is built around notes of mint, bergamot, moss, and cinnamon with amber and sandalwood in the base. Other works in the Speidel portfolio include Bravura and Bravura Musk from 1967. After these, the brand ceased fragrance production.
