Susan G. Komen for the Cure is an American breast cancer organization. Since its founding in 1982, the organization has invested over $2 billion in cancer research, legal services, health programs, staff training, and social support for women patients.
Susan Goodman Komen, after whom the association is named, was born in Illinois in 1943. At just 33 years old, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 1980, at the age of 36, she passed away. Nancy Goodman Brinker, her younger sister, witnessing the suffering of her loved one, pledged to do everything to fight this terrible disease. Keeping her word, Nancy founded the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982.
In 2007, the association's name was changed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the logo also changed, but the motto remained the same: 'End breast cancer forever!' The company launched the fragrance Susan G Komen Promise Me as part of a charity program, the perfume's name meaning 'Promise me...' The fragrance composition was created in memory of Susan Goodman Komen, who passed away prematurely. The scent, whose proceeds go to the breast cancer fund, is intended to evoke only the best feelings. The subtle and light fragrance inspires an optimistic mood, encourages joy and enjoyment of life, values oneself, and cares for one's own health.
