Katy Perry Purr: a playful fruity symphony

In 2010, the world of perfumery was enriched by the bright and fun fragrance Katy Perry Purr, which immediately won the hearts of the pop star's fans.

This eau de parfum, released in 2010, became the embodiment of a playful and mysterious character, inspired by cats — animals often associated with femininity.

Purr belongs to the floral and fruity families, making it fresh and sweet at the same time.

Its notes, such as peach and vanilla, add gourmand accents, relating to the fruity and gourmand groups.

Who Purr is for and how to wear it

This feminine fragrance is perfect for young girls who appreciate lightness and playfulness in perfumery. With a medium sillage, it leaves a delicate trail without overwhelming others.

For optimal application, it is recommended to use 2 to 3 sprays on the skin and 1 to 2 sprays on clothing to enjoy the fragrance throughout the day.

Purr unfolds beautifully in the spring and summer months, highlighting freshness and cheerfulness.

If you liked Purr, pay attention to similar fragrances: Avon Far Away, Chloé See by Chloé Si Belle and La Rive Vanilla Touch, which also combine fruity and floral notes.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The bottles look so playful and fun, it's just impossible to pass by! 😊 The scent is really pleasant, with a light sweetness and fresh accents, reminds me of coconut with apple and vanilla. Although the longevity leaves much to be desired, overall I liked it

The fragrance is clearly aimed at the younger generation. It's sweet, but not overly cloying. Floral, fresh, warm, and creamy. You can sense peach and coconut in it, as well as refreshing bamboo and delicate gardenia. From the first sniff, it seems appealing, but honestly, it quickly starts to get boring

The bottle is just stunning, as a cat lover, I bought both versions right away. The scent is really pleasant, great for relaxing. Sometimes I like to use such sweet and simple scents, my boys are absolutely thrilled when I wear something yummy. Here I smell coconut with peach jelly and lots of vanilla. Very cute, definitely a must-have for young people

The fragrance is really sweet, you could even say it's appetizing. For example, the top notes are: bamboo, gardenia, peach, and red apple. In the heart, white freesia, jasmine, and rose bloom. And in the base, you can catch sandalwood, musk, amber, vanilla, coconut, and orchid. I feel the sweetness of lollipops, a bit of ripe plum, and juicy berries. This scent is very rich and powerful. On the skin, it lasts about 3 hours. In the heat, of course, it can be too cloying. It's better to use it in cooler weather, then it will pleasantly warm you and delight with its sweetness

I don't know about others, but my nose sometimes needs a break from my beloved notes of leather, pepper, and patchouli. With this fragrance, it's clearly comfortable for it to relax))) The pyramid lists quite rich base notes: amber, musk, sandalwood, vanilla, and so on. But for me, it smells like a light and airy mousse with vanilla and coconut flakes, which lingers on skin, hair, and clothes for a long time. It doesn't smell cheap, but like an exquisite and delicate sweetness. Depending on the season, the top and middle notes change. In summer, I clearly detected floral accents - especially rose, gardenia, and freesia, as well as a slight hint of lilac, even though it's not listed. In winter, however, the fragrance unfolds differently: a crisp apple and sweet peach are distinctly felt, and bamboo adds freshness to the entire composition. The color of the bottle and its name perfectly reflect the essence of the fragrance - a cat in a relaxed mood)))

Right after applying, the fragrance gives the impression it's an exact copy of Scarlett by Cacharel. You can smell a bright tartness in it, slightly sweetish, but at the same time very lively and youthful. Over time, it becomes softer, as if slightly powdered. Coconut milk with vanilla appears, but here's the surprising thing - there's no sweetness in it! It's quite pleasant, and I wouldn't even have expected such a fun bottle to hide an excellent fragrance for everyday use )

The scent is actually rich and long-lasting, but I can't say I loved it. It's not just a fruit cocktail; rather, it's more like sweet jam mixed with thick syrup. All these sweet notes are framed by warm musk and amber, and sandalwood adds its own unique touch. But, honestly, I'm missing something deeper. This scent is only suitable for special moments, when you crave something sweet and cozy. Though, maybe I'm just not in the mood. Overall, the fragrance isn't as simple as it seems, but it doesn't exactly wow me either 😔

This scent reminds me of a sweet compote, which fits perfectly into everyday life. It'll be a good choice if you want to take a break from complex and intense perfumes. Katy Perry's work, much like this scent, isn't particularly outstanding, but it's totally fine as a background. Despite its sweetness and richness, it's not intrusive and can suit various situations

A couple of years ago I bought this perfume, primarily because of the cute bottle. The scent is really sweet and pleasant, but over time it started to get a bit tiring. Now I rarely reach for it. I can smell peach, coconut, and vanilla in it, but maybe it's time to look for something new

The bottle really looks gorgeous, but the scent itself is just a letdown. It reminds me of a cheap fruity shampoo that leaves absolutely no impression

This version of the fragrance is a bit easier to perceive, not as cloying. It's truly simpler to smell, although it still lacks naturalness, and the notes don't develop. Overall, it's just a fruity scent that doesn't unfold. All the time I only smell peach and coconut from Yves Rocher. It's kind of nice, but not for me ))

An acquaintance decided to buy it just because of the beautiful bottle. When I smelled it, honestly, I wasn't impressed - too sweet and fragrant. But a month or two later, I unexpectedly bought Scarlett by Cacharel myself. It's not exactly the same, of course, but there's something in common. Go figure us girls out 😏

There's really a lot mixed into this scent, and it seems that's exactly why it's so overwhelming. On one hand, the sweetness and deliciousness are there, but I just don't feel like wearing it. It's like with a favorite dessert: you've eaten until you're completely stuffed, and now you can't even look at it. Tried it once - and that's it, I don't want any more. If the sweetness were a bit toned down, maybe it would be easier to get along with

The scent is just awful! It's so cloying and strong, you can't get rid of it. I gave it away right away because I can't stand it. Even as an air freshener, it's too annoying

The fragrance is very sweet, with syrupy and tart notes. You definitely wouldn't call it fresh. It won't appeal to everyone, but those who adore sweet scents will absolutely love it. Before testing, I expected it to be light and playful, like a fluffy kitten, but I was wrong - there's something aggressive and predatory about it. Overall, it's not a universal fragrance, but it will still find its fan
