Daiki Yamane is a Japanese perfumer born in 1978 in Tokyo. His childhood was spent among temples and gardens, where he first felt the magic of scents. This later evolved into a passion for creating fragrances that convey the mood of nature. The composition Liberta Perfume - Amanoume, which captivated discerning audiences with its purity and depth, brought him worldwide fame.

Yamane trained at the renowned Givaudan school in Grasse, where his mentors were Jean-Claude Ellena and Jacques Cavallier. After returning to Japan, he founded his own studio and began experimenting with local ingredients such as yuzu, sakura, and hinoki. It is this blend of French technique and Eastern philosophy that forged his unique signature.

Signature Style

Critics call Daiki a "silent poet of scent." There is nothing superfluous in his compositions—each note is measured with mathematical precision, and the pyramid unfolds slowly, like a haiku scroll. Minimalism became his credo: the perfumer uses no more than three or four base chords, yet creates astonishing depth and atmosphere.

Collaborations and Brands

Yamane gained particular fame through his collaboration with the niche house Liberta Perfume, for which he created several bestsellers. He has also worked with Comme des Garçons (Series line), Diptyque, and the Japanese brand Aesop. Each brand values his ability to understand the company's DNA and seamlessly integrate his authorial vision.

Among the master's most striking creations are "Amanoume" (an ode to the seashore), "Hinoki Bath" with notes of cypress and eucalyptus, and "Rainy Tokyo"—a watercolor fragrance with accents of ozone and wet asphalt. The limited-edition "WabiSabi" collection is also immensely popular.
