In the world of fragrances, Philippine Courtier is a true blue blood in the perfume aristocracy. Born in Paris in 1986, she literally grew up surrounded by the rustle of fabrics and the scent of perfumes. Her grandfather, Jacques Rouet, was one of the founders of the legendary Christian Dior fashion house, and her father headed the couture division of Givenchy. Despite her legal education, her heart led her first to an internship at Robertet, and then in 2009 to the laboratory of the giant Firmenich, where her talent was honed in Geneva, New York, and Dubai.
After becoming a perfumer in 2014, Philippon quickly made a name for herself. Her portfolio is impressive in its diversity, ranging from niche delicacies to successful projects for major houses. She has created fragrances for such well-known brands as the exquisite Goutal Paris, the historic Atkinsons, the luxurious Omanluxury, as well as Korloff Paris, Chloé, and Princesse Marina De Bourbon. Her ability to adapt her style to the philosophy of each house makes her a sought-after master in the industry.
Among her many works, fans particularly highlight several iconic compositions. The delicate and playful Rose Pompon by Goutal Paris has become a modern classic. The mysterious and elegant Silver Wood for Korloff Paris captivates with its depth. And her work for Atkinsons includes the brilliant Gold Fair In MayfairSucht and the cozy Glück.
Philippine Courtière is a master of emotional storytelling. Her style is difficult to pigeonhole into one category. She works masterfully with floral accords, creating bouquets that are not ethereal, but lively and almost tangible, as in Cristal Rosae. She is not afraid to experiment with spicy and gourmand notes, as can be seen in her collection for Mavemade. At the same time, her fragrances are always distinguished by impeccable elegance and French chic, inherited from her family and honed at Firmenich.
Philippine Courtière represents a bridge between the glorious history of haute perfumery and its bold future. She proves that it is possible to honor tradition while creating bold, contemporary fragrances for brands such as Maison Matine (Avant l'Orage) and Re Classified. Her work for Oriflame, for example, the popular Incognito for Her and Dare to Shine, speaks to her ability to create high-quality, affordable compositions with character.
