7 Fragrances for Hot Summer: Freshness and Comfort
Summer puts perfume to the test. In the heat, even your favorite fragrance can sound different: some...
The Italian niche brand M.INT, founded in 2012 by the couple Serge and Hélène Mintz, has from the very beginning presented itself as a project where perfumery is the art of evoking deep emotions. Their motto "That Which Triggers Emotions" became the cornerstone of the entire philosophy of the house. These are not just perfumes, but true emotional stories in glass, designed to touch the strings of the soul and awaken vivid memories.
The idea of creating their own perfume brand had been brewing in Serge Mintz, an experienced entrepreneur in the beauty industry, since the 1990s. However, it materialized only after meeting Hélène, a designer, who became not only his wife but also his main muse, inspirer, and co-author of the brand's visual aesthetics. Their union gave birth to something unique in the niche perfumery market—a harmony of bold olfactory ideas and impeccable, almost jewelry-like design.
The first full collection, presented to the world in 2016, the creators dedicated to the magical atmosphere of the French Riviera. It was divided into four thematic lines, each corresponding to a specific aspect of this paradise place and represented in the brand's catalog.
Azure Collection is a hymn to the sea element, the freshness of the salty breeze, and the transparent azure of the water. The fragrances of this line give a sense of freedom and coolness.
The collection Blue is turned towards the infinity of the sky. These are fresh, airy, and invigorating compositions that seem to breathe energy of a clear day into you.
The line Purple captured the romance of Riviera sunsets, when the sky turns lilac and pink. Its fragrances are sensual, warm, and thoughtful perfume works.
And finally, Green Collection is an immersion into Mediterranean nature: the lush greenery of cypresses, spicy herbs, and woody notes. It is for those who seek grounded, natural, and sustainable accords.
To realize such ambitious olfactory concepts, M.INT attracted a whole pleiad of outstanding world-class "noses." Masters such as Nathalie Lorson, known for her bold accords, Marie Salamagne, virtuoso of floral compositions, and Fabrice Pellegrin, creator of many cult niche hits, worked on the brand's fragrances. Also contributing were Harry Fremont, Philippine Courtière, and Dominic Moellhausen. Such a constellation of talents guarantees the highest quality and artistic value of each bottle.
The visual identity of M.INT is a separate success story. Its author, the renowned designer Juan Carlos Rastorazo (founder of the agency Dome, which worked with Boucheron and Loewe), created bottles that became instantly recognizable. Minimalist black vessels are covered with a thin mesh and adorned with colored decor in the tone of the collection—azure, blue, green, or lilac. The metal case not only protects the fragile glass but also turns the perfume into a stylish travel accessory.
The source of inspiration for Rastorazo was the natural phenomenon of pleochroism—the ability of some minerals to change color depending on the angle of incident light. It is this play of shades and iridescence that is embedded in the brand's aesthetics, making each bottle a dynamic and living object.
In a relatively short time, M.INT has gifted the world with several true hits that are adored by connoisseurs of niche perfumery. Among them, No Coward stands out brightly—a bold, smoky, and animalic fragrance for those who are not afraid to be noticed. Equally popular is the fresh and aquatic Rainy City, conveying the coolness of the metropolis after rain.
Connoisseurs of exquisite floral compositions often choose the delicate and elegant Winged Heart, while lovers of classics with a modern twist—the iris masterpiece Irisation. For evening outings, the sensual and mysterious Neon Night is perfect, and for creating a bright day—the juicy and fruity Hit The Mark.
These fragrances have received recognition not only for their unique olfactory profiles but also for their excellent longevity and evolving sillage, which is a hallmark of M.INT's quality.
Since its world premiere at The Scent exhibition in 2018 and successful debut at Esxence in Milan, M.INT has firmly established itself at the forefront of contemporary niche perfumery. The brand continues to delight fans with new releases, remaining true to its philosophy—to create perfumes that are a trigger for a wide range of emotions: from nostalgia to unbridled joy.
It is this emotional response, multiplied by impeccable execution and a stellar lineup of perfumers, that makes M.INT a desired object for discussion in perfume communities and collections of true connoisseurs of the art of scent.
