Amberfig launched Ténèbres in 2019 — and it was a brilliant move. By character, a unisex fragrance drawing from the chypre and wood families. Conceived and brought to life by perfumer David Magalhaes. An eau de parfum — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

Description of the composition

The scent of Ténèbres is built as an expressive line of development, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The style of Amberfig is clear from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum sets the right density and pace of development.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Fruit, Balsamic, Animals and Wood. It also reaches into Ambery, Leather, Earthy / Mossy and Floral. Within olfactory families the fragrance belongs to Chypre and Wood.

From the first breath you catch sweet-fresh fruity first notes: Apple and Frankincense.

At the core of development you detect Castoreum, Oud and Vetiver carrying a structural woody direction.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Animalistic, Balsamic, Fruit and Wood forming a compact and readable structure. Secondary accord layers such as Amber and Leather expand the olfactory volume in the background. The profile is unisex, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

Taken together Ténèbres holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best experienced in wear.
