Fragrance information:

History and character of the fragrance

Banana Republic Classic is a true classic, launched in 1995.

Perfumer Jean-Claude Delville created a versatile eau de toilette suitable for both men and women — a unisex fragrance.

It belongs to the fougère family and has a moderate yet long-lasting sillage.

Olfactory impression

Classic opens with a vibrant citrus burst of bergamot, clementine, and grapefruit, enhanced by a green accord.

The heart blooms with lilac and honeysuckle, while the base features ginger, a woody accord, and musk.

This is a fresh, floral-spicy fragrance, perfectly suited to everyday casual wear.

Who it is for and when to wear it

Thanks to its balanced composition, Classic wears beautifully in any season, especially in spring and summer.

It is compliment-worthy without being overpowering — an ideal choice for the office, a walk, or a romantic date. The fragrance highlights natural elegance and leaves a feeling of freshness.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The scent is quite simple and light, but unfortunately, its longevity leaves much to be desired. It would be appropriate for the office, as it's not too intrusive and doesn't overwhelm those around you 🌼
