History and Inspiration

Bogue is an Italian niche house founded by Antonio Gardoni in 2012. Its fragrances are always distinguished by their boldness and depth.

Gardelia, launched in 2016, was created to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bologna boutique Profumeria Sacro Cuore and the wedding anniversary of its owners.

It is an ode to love and femininity, embodied in a lush white-floral accord.

Character and Scent

Gardelia is a true fireworks display of white flowers: gardenia, tuberose, jasmine, and frangipani create a rich, almost intoxicating bouquet.

At its heart, spicy and animalic notes unfold—cognac and civet—lending the composition sensuality and depth.

A base of beeswax, black pepper, and metallic notes adds an unexpected contrast, leaving a light powdery-peach trail.

At the same time, the sillage is barely perceptible: the fragrance wears intimately, attracting only those who are close by.

Similar Fragrances

Lovers of classic floral fragrances should take note of similar compositions: Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, with its aldehydic freshness; Jil Sander No 4, with its soft powdery accent; and Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle, with its luxurious floral heart.

For Whom and When

Gardelia is a women's fragrance in eau de parfum concentration, belonging to the Floral, Aromatic, and Powdery fragrance families.

It is ideal for evening outings, romantic dates, and special occasions when you want to surround yourself with an atmosphere of luxury and tenderness.

Description of the composition

The fragrance pyramid opens with a vibrant accord of white flowers: frangipani, gardenia, jasmine, rose, and tuberose. At the heart of the composition are civet, cognac, geranium, magnolia, and a woody accord.

The base is formed by beeswax, black pepper, metallic notes, peach, and powdery notes. This complex, multi-layered bouquet unfolds slowly, revealing new facets with every passing hour.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Extremely inconspicuous
1
Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.
