Fragrance information:

Royal Platinum Charriol — a 2011 fragrance that needs no introduction. This is a masculine fragrance rooted in the east and wood families. The nose behind this fragrance — Guillaume Flavigny. From the Royal collection; released as eau de parfum.

It's quite fleeting: longevity is very low, so feel free to reapply generously. Behind this fragrance stands Switzerland and its rich perfumery heritage. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The scent of Royal Platinum evolves as a continuous scent journey, where accents shift without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Charriol comes through in the way notes appear and fade. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Spicy, Balsamic, Leather and Floral. The framework further includes Ambery, Wood and Gourmet. Within olfactory families the composition sits in East and Wood.

Right at the start you sense piquant warm first notes: Ginger, Hot pepper and Saffron.

In the central layer you notice Frankincense, Leather accord and Rose carrying a deep balsamic direction.

The accord architecture rests on these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Gourmet and Floral with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Wood, Amber, Leather and Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background. The profile is masculine, which clarifies the composition character.

In summary Royal Platinum holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best understood on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.
Persistence
Extremely low (up to 1 hour)
1
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.
Sillage
Extremely inconspicuous
1
Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Honestly, it's a nightmare. Probably for lovers of such scents, it might seem appealing. But when I applied it to my wrist to test, my husband and I barely made it home. No wipes helped, and soap couldn't get rid of it on the first try. It's something like a balm with bitter resins and a horrible medicinal undertone. Just awful )
