The composition of Santal Auster is built as an expressive line of development, where accents shift without rush and without gaps. The signature of Chatillon Lux is clear in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Perfume extract keeps the right density and pace of development.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Animals, Balsamic and Wood. At family level the scent maps to Animals and Wood.

Without strict stage separation the opening appears as one connected movement with a soft-dry woody mood: Castoreum, Opopanax, Oud, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Styrax.

The inner phases are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which gives the structure continuity.
