Fragrance information:

L’eau d’Iris eau de parfum by American niche brand DSH Perfumes is a unisex composition belonging to the Floral fragrance family.

Created by the talented perfumer Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, this fragrance has a very strong sillage and imparts a sense of weightlessness.

History and Identity

DSH Perfumes is an American dream of perfumery that began in Boulder, Colorado, in 2000. The brand is known for its individual approach and commitment to quality.

L’eau d’Iris embodies the house’s philosophy: clean lines, natural ingredients, and subtle elegance. It is a fragrance for those who appreciate airy freshness and refinement.

Fragrance Pyramid and Development

The L’eau d’Iris composition is built on the contrast of spicy anise, a juicy fruity note, and velvety iris.

This unusual triumvirate is at once sweet, spicy, and powdery, creating a multifaceted impression.

Iris takes center stage here—delicate and sublime, like petals washed by the morning dew.

Who It’s For and How to Wear It

As a unisex fragrance, L’eau d’Iris suits anyone seeking a striking yet elegant trail.

Thanks to its very strong longevity, it is ideal for special occasions—dates, parties, or simply leaving an unforgettable impression.

If you appreciate the brand’s aesthetic, take a look at similar fragrances: Demeter Yellow Iris, Demeter Purple Iris, and Victoria's Secret Goddess.

The Perfumer and Her Influence

Dawn Spencer Hurwitz is a distinctive perfumer who combines classical techniques with a contemporary vision. Her work is marked by warmth and attention to detail.

L’eau d’Iris is a vivid example of her artistry: a fragrance that evokes both natural freshness and the perfumery of the past.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance truly perfectly conveys the atmosphere of meadow expanses. It's ideal for relaxing and enjoying time outdoors, although, in principle, you can wear it anywhere. The scent is very refined and herbaceous, lavender and geranium sound simply magnificent. The base has powdery-oriental notes, which is a bit unusual for me, but overall it adds interest 🌼

Iris with anise? Oh come on, that's a strange combination. My nose seems happy, but I can't say it's a "wow." Rose, geranium, and lavender also peek through somehow, but they don't impress. The lemon at the beginning is barely noticeable, as if it's shy. The finish is logical, of course, but again, not exactly familiar. We'll see what happens next, but so far, not great 😒
