Dsquared² Want Pink Ginger: an extravagant perfume for confident women

Released in 2016, Dsquared² Want Pink Ginger is a perfume that embodies the bold spirit and alternative luxury of the brand, founded by Canadian twins and became an Italian legend.

As part of the Want collection, this fragrance continues the Dsquared² tradition, offering a unique blend of spices and flowers for those who aren't afraid to stand out.

Classified as a female fragrance, Want Pink Ginger belongs to the Floral and Oriental families, making it ideal for sensual and memorable moments.

With a noticeable trail, it leaves a vivid impression and is suitable for evening events, dates, or special occasions where you want to emphasize your individuality.

The talented perfumer Aurélien Guichard brought his expert view to this composition, creating a balance between spicy top notes and a warm base.

Description of the composition

Note Pyramid of Want Pink Ginger: from a spicy explosion to a warm embrace

The composition opens with an energetic start, where ginger and pink pepper (red berries) combine with citrus lemon and mandarin, and exotic mangosteen adds fruity sweetness, creating a spicy and refreshing chord.

In the heart of the fragrance, delicate floral notes unfold: heliotrope brings soft powderiness, neroli — freshness, and rose adds romantic depth, smoothly transitioning to the base layer.

The base consists of amber, bourbon vanilla, vanilla, violet, and woody accord, creating a warm, enveloping, and long-lasting finish that leaves a trace of luxury and comfort on the skin.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This version is clearly fruitier. It has vanilla, powder, and ginger, but the fruity accord is front and center here. The scent has become lighter, and it might be suitable for a cool summer evening 🍃

Unfortunately, the new version didn't impress me as much as the first one. The pink pepper and ginger are too intrusive. Overall, it reminds me of the previous one, but vanilla and warm woody accents are still there. The opening smells sour-citrusy, and there's almost no powderiness 😕

A fragrance that can be described as vanilla-woody, with bright accents of ginger and pink pepper. The bottle, at first glance, seems frivolous and even childish, but don't let it fool you. Behind this facade hides a deep and mature fragrance that definitely won't leave anyone indifferent. It sparks interest and makes you wonder what truly lies behind its mysterious nature ))))

Syrup with fruits and vanilla, spiced. The first version was much more interesting, it was rich and diverse, but here everything is somehow too simple and predictable )

Fruits in powder? No way, that's kinda weird. The scent is lighter than the first version, sure, but that doesn't mean it's good. The fruits just seem like overkill. It has longevity, it projects, but not in a way that makes you want to wear it. It's somehow stuffy and uncomfortable. I don't know who could like this ))

The scent is completely different from the previous one. Vanilla dominates here, while that one had spices and powder 🌟

These fragrances, just like their counterpart, don't impress. The citruses here are too pushy, fruits are completely out of place. Vanilla, rose, and powder - all this is already so cliché it's unbearable. Overall, nothing new, just another banality

I wouldn't have bought it if I'd relied only on the top notes. At first, there's a bright citrus freshness, and then a delicate woodiness appears with vanilla and rose accents. It's so soft and cozy, more suitable for autumn, because for me, this scent is definitely autumnal

The perfume with woody-ginger notes and Thai fruits is just insanely long-lasting. Vanilla sweetness clearly dominates here, and the bottle color has become dark brown. This fragrance is more suitable for evenings or weekends, although it's great at boosting your mood. It's so cheerful and has so much character that you'll definitely stand out in a regular office. Personally, I really like it. I think I should get another bottle, I can't resist 😊

The fragrance is really interesting and playful. At first, it seems like it's going to be something serious because of its sweetness, but as soon as the ginger with pink pepper emerges, it becomes obvious that this is something lively and exciting. It sparkles and delights, not boring at all

The opening of the fragrance was citrusy, and I was even a little disappointed. But after 20 minutes, ginger appeared, and then just as unexpectedly disappeared. I'm looking for the perfect summer ginger scent, but this one is clearly not it. Rather, it's a blend with a slight hint of ginger, and nothing more. Overall, the scent isn't bad and I even like it, but it's too simple and completely not long-lasting
