Identity and History of Elizabeth Arden Splendor

Imagine a fragrance that, from the very first spritz, transports you to an era of exquisite femininity and elegance – this is Elizabeth Arden Splendor, released in 1998.

This perfume embodies the legacy of the legendary brand, whose name has become synonymous with the American dream and a beauty revolution.

Splendor is not just a fragrance, but an embodiment of luxury and refinement that continues to captivate hearts for several decades.

The Masters Behind the Creation: Perfumers of Splendor

Two talented perfumers worked on creating this masterpiece: James Krivda and Susan Wacker, with the concept developed by Susan Wacker.

Their collaborative effort led to the birth of a fragrance that harmoniously combines floral tenderness with oriental depth, reflecting the expert approach and attention to detail characteristic of Elizabeth Arden.

Positioning and Character of the Fragrance

Elizabeth Arden Splendor is classified as a women's fragrance, ideally suited for those who appreciate classic elegance with a modern twist.

It is presented in eau de parfum concentration, which ensures longevity and richness, and its middle trail leaves a soft but memorable trace, making it ideal for daily wear and special occasions.

The fragrance belongs to the Floral and Oriental families, and its notes include Floral, Fruit, Musk, and White Flower groups, creating a multifaceted composition.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The floral bouquet is truly delightful. The scent is light and delicate, perfect for women. The longevity is excellent, and the sillage is simply gorgeous 🌸

The scent is not bad, of course, but the longevity is simply terrible. Yes, it has something from the 90s, but without any frills. Honestly, I expected more and got nonsense

The scent is indeed bright and sweet. The notes are intertwined in such a way that you immediately realize - these are perfumes from the 90s. They seem quite heavy and suffocating. Back then, such fragrances were at the peak of popularity 😅

Many say the scent doesn't last long and is too light. Maybe we have different perceptions, but for me, it's rich and has excellent sillage. The smell is sweet, honeyed, with hints of floral pollen, but not overly cloying, rather very delicate. It's the perfect evening version of Sunflowers. In the floral direction, it really resembles it, but their overall sound is completely different. This is a true classic in a bottle

It starts with such a fresh and noble note that you immediately want to get a bottle! But over time, a very sweet retro scent emerges. It's not modern, but it's a long-lasting and bright floral bouquet, reminiscent of classic Soviet perfumes, only a little better. It's no longer Soviet, but not French either - rather Polish 🌸

What an awful scent this is. A bouquet of flowers, yes, but it doesn't delight, it rather overwhelms. The lily, which should be the queen, actually only causes a headache. And this slight dizziness? Don't make me laugh, it's more like poisoning. Aldehydes at the start, yes, but they are out of place and sharp. And the entourage? Lilies of the valley and lilac, maybe jasmine-all of it is simply unbearable. The rose is not audible, and perhaps that's for the best, but something is still missing. Fruits? None, not even a hint. Woody notes are also absent, although so many were promised. The base with musk, yes, but it's not a wild cat, but just an annoying furball that won't let go. The scent is clean, but that doesn't make it better. In the heat, it smells like expensive soap, and that's not a compliment. Long-lasting, loud, but it should be applied with caution. Compare it to 5th Avenue? I disagree, it's chalk and cheese. Splendor sounds different, and if we're talking about similarity, then it's with Pink Opal from Northern Lights-and that's not in its favor 😒

There once was a perfume called "I Wish You Happiness." Splendor brings its scent to mind. There's something spring-like about it, yet sad at the same time. It seems this charm hides sorrow
