Fragrance information:

In 2012, Esika introduced Expression — a fragrance that's hard to forget. A feminine fragrance rooted in the aldehyde and floral families. The author of this composition is IFF perfumer, and that explains a lot.

Behind this fragrance stands Peru and its rich perfumery heritage. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Expression evolves as an expressive line of development, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Esika is recognizable in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Cosmetic without random overlap. The profile is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

Without strict stage separation the fragrance opens as a single chord with a romantic floral mood: Aldehydes, Apple, Bergamot, Gardenia, Jasmine, Mimosa and Orange blossom.

The inner phases are read as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which keeps the fragrance coherent.

From the group perspective the profile is anchored in Fairy, Fruit, Citrus and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Floral and Aromatic. At family level the composition sits in Aldehyde and Floral.

Overall Expression sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.
