Hanae Mori Magical Moon: The Magic of Moonlight in Every Bottle

When East meets West, something magical is born — and that is exactly what happened with this Hanae Mori fragrance from 2006.

Magical Moon is an eau de parfum created for those who believe in the power of nature and rituals.

This women's fragrance belongs to the oriental and floral families, with a moderate sillage that leaves behind a mysterious trail.

A Symphony of Notes: From Dawn to Midnight

The Magical Moon pyramid is a true journey. The top notes welcome you with an exotic cocktail of starfruit, guava, lychee, pineapple, and spicy pink pepper.

At the heart, orange blossom, osmanthus, and rose unfold, while the base brings warmth with cedar, coconut milk, cotton flower, incense, white musk, patchouli, red cedar, sandalwood, sugar cane, and vanilla.

A true lunar nectar!

Who Created This Magic?

The fragrance was crafted by the talented perfumer Claude Dir, who captured the magic of a full moon in its notes.

Legend has it that the composition was inspired by an ancient ritual of gathering flowers according to the lunar calendar — hence its remarkable complexity and mystical character.

What to Wear It With and What to Compare It To?

Magical Moon is the perfect choice for evening occasions and romantic dates.

If you enjoy similar oriental-floral creations, consider Hermès Twilly d'Hermes Eau Poivree, Tommy Hilfiger Loud for Her, and Jacques Fath Les Folies de Fath — they share the same bold femininity and exotic appeal.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Guava notes - just awful. It's like someone tried to capture a moment, but in the end, everything just flies off into nowhere. Too bad this bliss disappears so quickly. One of my favorite scents? I doubt it. If we're talking about the scent itself, it's kind of cloying, too sweet and fruity. No passion at all, just disappointment and a heavy heart. Delicious? Nah, more like repulsive

Mostly I choose it for cold weather. The powdery softness and play of accents in this fragrance are simply captivating, especially when it's freezing outside. It's like it brings with it the warmth of berries and coconut, creating a sweetish atmosphere, as if you're on a summer beach, even if it's winter or autumn outside 🌬️

Magical Moon made an impression on me, but not in the best way. The scent is stylish and beautiful, sure, but it's too heavy for me. Windy weather might save it a bit, but overall I can't say I really liked it. It's worth trying, but don't be surprised if it doesn't click with you

The combination of tropical fruits with spices and woody accents is simply magnificent. The notes are as deep as the color of the bottle itself, and the name is captivating. This composition fills you with warmth and sweet femininity, especially on frosty winter days. They unfold amazingly! I definitely recommend everyone to try and wear it ))

At first, I really liked it, and I bought a 50 ml bottle. It seemed light, summery, even a little playful. But then one note started to annoy me, and I realized I'd used less than a fifth of the bottle, and I was already tired of it. Sweet, dense, fruity, but with a slight chemical hint that, while not strong, is still noticeable. I don't know what guava and star fruit smell like, but something overly exotic definitely stands out. Plus, the persistent coconut and pepper add heaviness. It doesn't associate with a moonlit night at all. Maybe I'm judging too harshly, and it will unfold differently in the summer, but right now I'm sad that my expectations weren't met 😔
