About Hendley Perfumes Fume

Hendley Perfumes launched Fume in 2015 as a unisex fragrance in Eau de Parfum concentration. It was created by perfumer Hans Hendley.

The fragrance belongs to the chypre and woody families.

Scent Pyramid and Development

Fume is built around smoky, resinous and earthy accents. Key notes include galbanum, lapsang souchong, nagarmotha, oakmoss and resins.

This unusual blend creates an atmospheric, multifaceted scent of smoke—from a campfire to incense.

Wearability and Sillage

Thanks to its very strong sillage, Fume is ideal for cool weather and evening occasions. It unfolds slowly, enveloping you in a dense cloud of smoke that lingers on the skin for a long time.

Similar Fragrances

If you like Fume, consider Tiziana Terenzi Bella Oudh, Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli and Tom Ford Arabian Wood.

The Creator and the Brand

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The Fume composition combines smoky lapsang souchong, resinous galbanum, earthy nagarmotha, damp oakmoss, and warm resins.

These notes weave together into a complex, shimmering smoky accord that simultaneously evokes a bonfire, a peat bog, and temple incense.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The scent reminds me of tobacco, but it's more like something with herbs, not like in temples. The fragrance is refined, and its straightforwardness is truly appealing. It won't work for relaxation or as a way to attract attention. But if you need to intrigue or surprise, it's an excellent choice. Smoky, it creates the feeling as if you've just stepped out of a place where the air is imbued with something mysterious and pleasant 🌿
