Description of the composition

The composition of Neroli + Mandarin unfolds as an expressive line of development, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Henri Bendel is evident in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Citrus, Whiteflower, Floral and Aromatic. The framework further includes Musk and Fruit. At family level the scent maps to Floral and Fruit.

As soon as the fragrance opens you sense invigorating sunny first notes: Bergamot, Mandarin and Petitgrain.

In the heart you notice Jasmine, Neroli and Rosemary carrying a sensual jasmine direction. In the base the structure settles through Orange blossom and musk, reinforcing a velvety floral trail.

The internal accord map is shaped by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Floral and Musc forming a compact and readable structure. The stylistic positioning is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

Overall Neroli + Mandarin holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best experienced in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth

At first, the rosemary is a bit annoying, like someone opened a bottle of essential oil nearby. But then, as the scent starts to unfold, you can feel a sweet, juicy mandarin. This fragrance fills you with energy, it's bright and fresh, with hints of greenery. Really cool! 🍊
