The Allure of a Precious Gem: Judith Leiber Amethyst

Imagine a fragrance that sparkles like a faceted amethyst—noble, mysterious, and endlessly feminine.

This is precisely what Amethyst, released in 2012 under the auspices of the legendary Judith Leiber, became.

The brand, whose name is synonymous with uncompromising luxury and the glamour of haute couture, brought this philosophy into the world of perfumery, creating a composition for women who are not afraid to be the center of attention.

This eau de toilette belongs to the floral and fruity families—a combination that feels both delicate and playful.

This precious elixir was created by renowned perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, whose talent brought the image of a luxurious gemstone to life.

As for its sillage, it is rather intimate and delicate, leaving behind a light, alluring cloud.

It is the perfect choice for occasions when you want to be closer to the person you are speaking with without overwhelming them with intensity. The fragrance unfolds with sophistication and natural grace, highlighting your individuality.

If you are looking for something with a similar mood, consider Hugo Boss Boss The Scent For Her, Jacques Fath Lilas Exquis, or Guerlain L'Instant de Guerlain Eau de Toilette.

Each has its own distinctive touch, yet their shared elegance and femininity connect them with Amethyst.

Description of the composition

The composition of Amethyst opens with a vibrant fruity burst: bergamot, lychee, raspberry, and blackberry create a sparkling introduction.

At its heart, a lush bouquet of gardenia, lily of the valley, linden blossom, and magnolia blooms. The base is warm and sensual: amber, a woody accord, and musk lend it longevity and depth.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

What a cool fragrance! Berry, dense, just super. It doesn't overwhelm, but rather plays on the skin. You can feel the tartness of blackcurrant and raspberry, and lily of the valley adds freshness. In the base, there's sweetness with honey, but not cloying, rather the kind that makes you want more. I think many people will definitely love it!

After getting to know Sapphire, I decided to learn more about other Judith Leiber fragrances. I stumbled upon a review for Amethyst in an online store and, taking advantage of discounts, bought a 10ml set. At first, this fragrance disappointed me. The blackcurrant smelled too artificial, reminding me of vitamin candies from the pharmacy that have the same scent. But over time, a delicate creamy-honey bouquet with white flowers began to unfold on my skin. It gained femininity and softness. The fragrance is dense and bright, perfect for an evening out!!!
