Identity and Release History

The fragrance Juliette Has A Gun Another Oud, launched in 2015, is a bold challenge to traditional oriental and woody compositions.

Created under the auspices of the brand Juliette Has A Gun, known for its French rebellion and perfumery gun, this perfume embodies the audacity and independence instilled by the great-grandson of legendary Nina Ricci, Romano Ricci, in 2006.

It does not belong to a specific collection, emphasizing its uniqueness as a standalone release capable of surprising even the most discerning connoisseurs.

In the world of perfumery, where oud is often associated with heavy and traditional chords, Another Oud offers a fresh perspective, balancing on the edge of oriental opulence and modern lightness.

Its release in 2015 coincided with the growing popularity of unisex fragrances, making it relevant even today for those seeking something more than just a scent.

Positioning and Wearability

This perfume is classified as unisex, which means its versatility for men and women striving to highlight their individuality.

In the format of eau de parfum, it has medium longevity and a medium sillage, which does not overwhelm but elegantly accompanies you throughout the day.

It is ideal for cool evenings or the autumn-winter season, when oriental notes unfold in all their glory, but can also add a touch of spice to daily looks thanks to its modern character.

It is recommended for special occasions, dates, or moments when you want to impress with your confidence and style.

Its woody and oriental chords, belonging to the Oriental and Woody families, create an atmosphere of mystery and warmth, making it complimentary and memorable.

Creators and Influence

Behind the creation of Another Oud is the visionary Romano Ricci, who not only founded the brand but also infused it with a spirit of rebellion and innovation.

His work on this fragrance reflects the desire to reinterpret classic materials, such as oud, and present them in a new light, reinforcing Juliette Has A Gun's reputation as a pioneer in the world of niche perfumery.

This release demonstrates how the brand continues to push boundaries, offering fragrances that speak of strength and elegance simultaneously.

The influence of Another Oud on the industry lies in its ability to attract both fans of traditional oriental compositions and those seeking lighter and more versatile options.

It has become an example of how oud can be integrated into modern perfumery trends, preserving its depth but acquiring new dynamics.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Another Oud begins with a bright and refreshing accord of bergamot and juicy raspberry, which create a playful and fruity introduction, instantly capturing attention.

In the heart of the composition, noble oud dominates, revealing its woody, slightly smoky, and animalic depth, which adds mystery and strength to the fragrance.

The base notes are represented by warm ambroxan and gentle musk, ensuring longevity and a soft, enveloping finish that leaves a silky trail on the skin.

This evolution from freshness to warmth makes the composition dynamic and multifaceted, ideally suited for those who appreciate the evolution of the fragrance throughout the day.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

At first, everything seems pretty good: cozy, warm, and even tasty. For winter, it seems perfect. But here is that "but". It seems to ruin everything. Gradually, the scent starts turning into smoke and soot, and there are plenty of such smells out there. Why buy another one if they are all so similar? Mainstream is a real plague of our time. When every second person starts wearing niche scents, they are no longer niche, just expensive mass-market

I avoided this fragrance for a long time. Oud was alarming, I was in no hurry to try it. But with the sunset from Rendezvous came a sample. Now I can't get rid of the thought of buying! The perfume is chic, attractive. I don't know what oud should smell like, but here it's a powerful, fresh, moist woody chord with a hint of raspberry. At first sharp, after half an hour soft, like a cozy coat. The sillage is not loud, but a subtle aura. Without Rendezvous I wouldn't have discovered it

I don't understand what everyone finds! Oud is soft, but only for beginners in niche. Nothing special, safe, doesn't grab. I keep it for mixing with others

The scent will clearly please those who appreciate woody notes. The freshness of wood shavings is felt, and ambroxan gives it a recognizable character. Raspberry sometimes appears, but it's not always noticeable in the overall impression

I didn't notice any raspberry here, unfortunately. I can only smell ambroxan and wood, and that's it. Ambroxan is certainly not bad, it sits well on the skin, but the scent as a whole is so-so. Not impressed )

Raspberry is barely noticeable, just a hint of sweetness. I mainly get woody notes and ambroxan with musk. Unfortunately, I don't see the beauty of the scent. It hardly changes on the skin. Very oriental, but it fades away gradually 😕

What a wonderful and rich scent! The Oud here is simply amazing, it reminds me of freshly cut wood, so natural and harmonious. And you can also feel a light sweetness of raspberry, which adds a special charm. It really lifts the soul!

This fragrance, damn, just blows my mind! It's bright and intense with oriental notes, but at the same time so complex and a bit strange. I won't say it's cliché, but it might seem heavy for some. The wood here sounds so natural, it feels like it was just chopped down, and the sweetness of raspberry and light bergamot add an interesting shade

The scent is definitely rich and unusual, but honestly, it leaves a strange aftertaste. Oud is clearly dominating, and its smell reminds me of freshly cut wood, which, generally speaking, isn't very pleasing. Raspberry flashes by, but it's so pale you can barely notice it. Bergamot? No, you can't really smell it at all. However, ambroxan, which appears so often in this brand's perfumes, is present here too, but it doesn't spark any excitement. In the end, the feeling from the scent is more bitter than joyful

In my opinion, this scent just reminds me of dry wood and nothing more. Maybe I should try a different angle with it 🤷‍♀️

I don't detect any raspberry in this fragrance. It features citrus notes and the scent of fresh-cut wood. There's a musk base. It feels heavy and too overpowering for me 😔

Beautiful woody-musk scent. The oud here doesn't remind of a hospital, but rather it's unusual and pleasant. The perfume is really strict, but in this there is its own zest and complexity

It's really impressive. Woody with a smoky nuance, the longevity is top-notch, and the trail is simply mesmerizing. I just can't seem to catch the raspberry note though. Curious to see how it unfolds later

Sad. Sweetish wood with a hint of rubber. Reminds me of oriental oils from Anapa. They leave a strange aftertaste, as if something important slipped away

Amazing fragrance! In hot days it's simply indispensable, the raspberry and woody notes create an incredible combination. Longevity is top-notch, just thrilled with it! 🌟
