Romano Ricci

Romano Ricci

Креативный директор

The name Romano Ricci is synonymous in the world of perfumery with a rebellious spirit and heritage blended into a unique cocktail. The great-grandson of legendary couturier Nina Ricci and grandson of Robert Ricci, who created the eternal symbol of love and peace—the fragrance Nina Ricci - L'Air du Temps—he literally grew up among barrels of essences in the workshops of the Nina Ricci family home. It was his grandfather, the head of the perfume department, who became his first teacher, introducing the boy to the secret language of aromatic notes.

From business school to his own perfume weapon

Despite his deep roots, Romano chose an unconventional path. After graduating from business school, he immersed himself in the world of marketing and product management in the cosmetics industry. This experience, as well as communication with perfume masters such as Pierre Bourdon, honed his commercial acumen and finally convinced him that fragrance is not just a liquid in a bottle, but a powerful means of self-expression. In 2006, combining his inherited talent, entrepreneurial spirit, and bold ideas, he founded the Juliette Has A Gun brand.

Philosophy and signature style: Juliette with character

Romano Ricci's credo is to break stereotypes. His Juliette is not a fragile Shakespearean heroine, but a modern, strong, and multifaceted woman armed with fragrance instead of a dagger. Each perfume is a shot, a statement, a manifestation of a certain facet of her personality. His style can be described as bold, conceptual, and often ironic. He masterfully plays with recognizable accords, giving them a new, sometimes provocative sound, whether it's pure musk or sweet vanilla.

Cult fragrances that conquered the world

Under Romano's leadership, the brand has released dozens of hits that have become must-haves for connoisseurs of niche perfumery. The minimalist Juliette Has A Gun - Not A Perfume, built on a single molecular accord, became a real sensation. Equally popular are the juicy and daring Lady Vengeance, the sunny and creamy Sunny Side Up, and the playful Miss Charming. Each bottle tells its own story, whether it's the rebelliousness of Mad Madame, the optimism of Anyway, or the sensual pleasure of Mmmm....

Recognition and influence beyond the perfume studio

Romano Ricci's contribution to the industry was recognized with the prestigious Special Board Prize from The French Fragrance Foundation in 2011. But his activities are not limited to creating perfumes. He is the co-founder of the iconic Parisian concept store Nose, which has become a Mecca for hunters of unique fragrances. This project reaffirms his role not only as a perfumer, but also as a visionary who shapes the very culture of niche perfumery in the modern world.
