Description of the composition

The scent of Cut Cigar unfolds as an expressive line of development, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Karen Low is clear from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette keeps a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Musc and Wood with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background. The gender direction is masculine, which clarifies the composition character.

Right at the start you catch invigorating sunny first notes: Bergamot and Lemon.

At the core of development you notice Lavender, Nutmeg, Sage and Thyme holding a lavender-sage direction.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Citrus, Green, Spicy and Aromatic. The palette also extends to Wood and Musk. At family level the scent maps to Citrus and Wood.

Taken together Cut Cigar holds a coherent structure — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. This is the type of composition best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This fragrance is totally ordinary, cold, and just bland. Citrus and lavender at the start, but then it all quickly disappears into nothing, leaving only a barely-there musk. Longevity is just awful, it vanishes as soon as you spray it on 😒

No trace of cigar notes here. The scent is quite sharp and fresh, there are tons like it on the market. Lavender, lemons, and something else fresh in the mix. The only plus is the lack of an alcoholic opening, but all in all, I can't say I'm super fond of it 😒
