Description of the composition

The composition of Tokyo By Kenzo evolves as a cohesive olfactory arc, where accents shift without rush and without gaps. The style of Kenzo is clear in details that define the fragrance identity. Every decision feels deliberate, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the opening of the pyramid you catch sparkling citrus first notes: Ginger, Grapefruit and Lemon. These 3 notes build a sensation of cool purity that anchors the first impression immediately.

In the central layer you sense Bitter Orange, Green Tea and Pink pepper holding a pure citrus-floral direction.

The olfactory framework rests on these accords: Citrus, Wood and Spicy with each one in a clear role. The profile is masculine, which clarifies the composition character. In longevity terms Middle suggests confident staying power.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Spicy, Citrus, Drinks and Wood. Within olfactory families the scent maps to Spicy and Wood.

In summary Tokyo By Kenzo reads as a cohesive composition — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the scent structures best understood through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Ginger is at the forefront here, and I just adore this note. It's so tart and spicy, with subtle woody accents and citrus notes, just a little bit pungent. Its sillage is impressive, and the longevity is also pleasing. The price for this fragrance is still reasonable, but it's better not to delay with the purchase before it gets more expensive 💫

Since 2008, this fragrance has been my go-to for weekends. It's truly complex and captivating, full of energy. I couldn't part with it until it was discontinued. Haven't found anything similar from Kenzo or other brands since 😔

This fragrance is simply amazing. And my husband is thrilled with it too. We both happily enjoy the bright ginger - it's so rich, warm, and like it's just been baked. This note really stands out! Ginger and spices give the fragrance uniqueness, and the peppery touch harmonizes beautifully with cedar and musk. Citrus, unfortunately, doesn't unfold on his skin, but the ginger… mmm, that's something special.

The fragrance is very bright and individual, it's not for everyone - only for those who truly stand out. It lasts long on the skin, barely fading, but alas, there's no sillage. However, the longevity is simply excellent: one or two sprays in the morning - and you can be sure that by evening, or even night, the scent will still be noticeable.

But there's one nuance: it's not suitable for summer heat. In the heat, it can be too cloying, so it's better to be careful with it in warm weather

This isn't just a perfume, it's a real explosive mix! 😍 I was amazed at how brightly and harmoniously the notes combine. This is truly rare for men's fragrances. It's so beautiful that I can't even recall any known perfumes that could compare to it or even come close to its scent 💥
