Marc Bernes Ocean Drive Atlantic

Marc Bernes Ocean Drive Atlantic is a men's eau de toilette created for those who enjoy fresh compositions with a pronounced woody character.

The fragrance is part of the Ocean Drive collection and combines aquatic and woody nuances, giving it a dynamic, clean and modern character.

The fragrance makes an impression through the contrast between cool citrus freshness and a dry, spicy-woody base.

From the very first minutes, Ocean Drive Atlantic opens energetically without becoming overly sharp: citrus notes set a light pace, spices add definition, and woody notes gradually make the scent more composed and masculine.

Character and development

The composition's main accent is fresh bergamot, supported by lemon and cardamom.

This opening evokes cool sea air and a sunny day by the coast, yet the fragrance never becomes excessively watery or transparent: spicy nuances quickly lend it depth.

The heart combines black pepper, cedar, sage and tarragon.

The pepper note gives the scent a more focused character, cedar adds a dry woody facet, while sage and tarragon support the aromatic, slightly green effect.

As a result, the composition retains its freshness while becoming noticeably more serious and confident.

Wearability and sillage

Ocean Drive Atlantic is well suited to men who choose understated fragrances for everyday wear.

It is easy to wear at the office, on a walk, while travelling and whenever you want to look well-groomed without filling the surrounding space with an intense cloud of fragrance.

The eau de toilette has a soft sillage, so it stays close to the skin and feels discreet.

For application to the skin, 2 to 3 sprays are sufficient; on clothing, 3 to 4 sprays can be used, depending on the fabric, temperature and desired intensity.

The composition unfolds especially well in spring and summer, but its woody-ambery base also makes it suitable for the transitional seasons.

Its place in the brand's style

The Marc Bernes perfume house, founded in Russia in 2013, is known for its aim of making expressive perfumery accessible and easy to understand for a broad audience.

Ocean Drive Atlantic reflects this philosophy well: it is an approachable fragrance with a recognisably fresh opening, a clear masculine character and a comfortable feel on the skin.

In the dry-down, amber, a woody accord and musk soften the spicy heart, leaving a clean, warm aftertaste.

If you like the idea of a fresh men's fragrance with a citrus-spicy profile, consider Versace Eau Fraiche Man, S Parfum Breath and Philipp Plein Plein Sport Thunder — these compositions can be explored as possible next steps in discovering a similar aesthetic.

Description of the composition

Marc Bernes Ocean Drive Atlantic Fragrance Notes Pyramid

The top notes open with a fresh combination of bergamot, lemon and cardamom. Bergamot and lemon create a sparkling citrus accord, while cardamom adds a cool, spicy facet.

The heart of the composition features black pepper, cedar, sage and tarragon.

Pepper enhances the fragrance’s dynamism, dry cedar forms its framework, while sage and tarragon add a green aromatic nuance.

The base is built around amber, a woody accord and musk. It makes the dry-down feel softer, warmer and longer-lasting, while retaining the light character of an eau de toilette.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Empty and watery. Maybe okay for a little refresh after a shower. There's no point wearing this: no sillage, no longevity either. But the bottle does look amusing on a shelf

As an analogue of Versace it's bad. As a separate fragrance also not good. Powder and cheap spices
