Identity and Release History

In 2018, the world of perfumery was enriched by the exquisite creation of Massimo Dutti — the Manhattan Light fragrance, known in Russia as "Manhattan Light".

This eau de parfum embodies modern femininity and elegance, perfectly reflecting the brand's DNA, born under the hot Spanish sun in 1985 for connoisseurs of impeccable style.

Manhattan Light is part of the The Secret Of Scents collection, where each bottle holds its unique story, making it a coveted accessory for true fashionistas.

The release of Manhattan Light came at a time when the brand was actively expanding its perfumery heritage, offering fragrances that easily fit into daily life while providing a sense of luxury.

This perfume quickly gained popularity among those seeking fresh and inspiring compositions for vibrant urban moments, highlighting the connection between fashion and emotions.

Positioning and Wearability

Manhattan Light is positioned as a women's fragrance, created for self-confident girls who appreciate lightness and grace.

Its noticeable sillage allows it to leave an elegant trail without overwhelming others, making it ideal for the office, dates, or city strolls.

To enjoy the full richness of the fragrance, it is recommended to enter the cloud of sprays on the skin for intense development, and for a longer-lasting effect — from 2 to 3 sprays on clothing.

The composition belongs to the floral and fruity families, giving it versatility for warm seasons — spring and summer, when one wants to feel vitality and freshness.

If you are looking for alternatives, pay attention to similar fragrances: Bershka Endless Bliss for similar airiness, Carolina Herrera 212 Splash (2008) with a citrus focus, or Victoria's Secret Dim all the Lights for a romantic mood.

Authors and Influence

Behind the creation of Manhattan Light is the legendary Olivier Cresp, a master perfumer known for his ability to combine classical elements with modern trends.

His work on this fragrance highlights attention to detail and the desire to convey the spirit of urban lightness, which enhanced Massimo Dutti's reputation as a brand that not only dresses but also inspires.

This release was an important step in expanding the brand's perfume line, demonstrating how Spanish elegance can be translated into aromatic forms.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Manhattan Light is built on a harmonious combination of mixed chords, where bergamot brings a bright citrus freshness at the beginning, peony adds delicate floral shimmers to the heart of the composition, and musk creates a warm and cozy base, ensuring longevity and softness.

These notes come together in groups of citrus, floral, and musk, forming a multifaceted character of the fragrance, which smoothly unfolds from an invigorating start to a sensual finish, perfectly suited for those who appreciate the balance between lightness and depth.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The peony is really beautiful, but honestly, it's not quite suitable for warm skin. On myself, I felt how synthetics mixed with the flowers, but on a girl in the store, the scent unfolded differently - there were delicate, snow-white peonies

This scent seems to slip away, leaving only a light trace. Musk, so transparent and clean, blends with garden roses, and citrus notes add a touch of freshness. You can feel spring in it, but a spring that won't return 🌸

What a wonderful peony! It's more white than pink or burgundy, and so delicate. The scent is just refreshing! Maybe for some, there's too much musk, but I adore it, so I really loved this perfume
